What do Japanese language learners like?

Today I would like to introduce what my school's students (Japanese language learners) like.

・Anime

One Piece, Naruto, My Hero Academia, Hunter Hunter, Atack of Titan, Demon Slayers. These are all well-known.

I don't know if it's the anime group, but Studio Ghibli is also popular.

We can watch the film in London, and recently, Totoro and Spirited Away musicals have been very popular in London and sold out soon after they went on sale. I couldn't get a ticket for Totoro, so I got a ticket this year. However, what is popular among Brazilians and South Africans are anime works from the late 80s, such as Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and YuYu Hakusho. This is probably due to the constant reruns of old Japanese anime on their local TV.

・Trip (Food)

Of course, the most common are my students who love to travel to Japan!

Some of my students go to Japan for a few months each year and travel to rural areas of Japan that even I have never been to. The purpose is sightseeing, of course, but also food and communication with Japanese people.

"I want to make that taste I had in Japan in London!"

 "I want to talk with Japanese people in Japan." And they are good at cooking Japanese food. One of my students was attending Japanese cooking classes in London.

As for places to visit, my students often visit Hiroshima. The most common combinations are Tokyo, Kyoto/Osaka, and Hiroshima. ・Japanese Novel

My older students like Japanese novels. They love the world of Japanese novels. Since they can get English versions here, they often introduce me to a variety of novels. The most popular is Haruki Murakami. An older author is Kawabata Yasunari.

Some students often read novels related to the war. Although in English, they also read many Japanese novels and would like to read them in Japanese someday.

・Traditional culture Many students love Japanese traditional cultures such as Ikebana, tea ceremony(Matcha), Aizome, and Kotowaza.

My students know a lot of things that I don't know, and I am being taught the opposite.

I am learning about Japan from my students every day.

I would like to learn more about Japan and teach my students about Japan!

みなさんこんにちは。日本の皆様むけにロンドンセミナーをしようしようと思っているのですが、幸いにもアルバイトをしなくても生活が回るようになってのと、オンラインの生徒も多いので、週末は大体、ヨーロッパのどこかに旅をしながら勤務をしており、なかなか企画できていません。すみません。 この時期のヨーロッパ内の飛行機代は安いと£20とか。日本円だと4,000円くらいですが、こちらの最低時給は£10.4,春からは£11.5なので、大体2,000円くらいの感覚です。

ブロックチェーン時代に、ヨーロッパの大体の国を回っているものの、当時はゆっくりする時間がなかったのと、ロンドンは物価が高いので（と言っても周りの人のおかげで結構外食してる方ですが）気分転換がてら、土曜日出発の月曜日帰国で、いろんな国を訪れています。ワーホリらしからぬ、優雅な暮らしをしております。経営者でよかった。笑　 気に入った国があったら、ワーホリビザの後、移住をしようと思っています。

さて、今日は、弊学校の生徒（日本語学習者）が好きなものを紹介しようと思います。 ・アニメ やはり、ワンピース、ナルト、僕のヒーローアカデミア、ハンターハンター、タイタンの冒険、鬼滅の刃。この辺りは王道。

アニメのくくりかわかりませんが、ジブリも人気です。

こちらでも映画館で見ることができる上に、最近はトトロや千と千尋の神隠しのミュージカルがあり、発売開始後即完売の大人気です。去年は私もチケットを手に入れられず、今年、見に行く予定です。

ただ、ブラジル・南アフリカ出身者の人気は、ドラゴンボール、セータームーン、幽遊白書など、80年代後半の作品が多め。

これは、現地のテレビでひたすら日本の昔のアニメを再放送しているからのようです。

・日本旅行（食べ物）

言わずもがな、旅行目的学習者が最多です。私の生徒の中には毎年数ヶ月日本へ行き、私も行ったことのない日本の田舎を回っている人が何人か居ます。

目的は観光はもちろんですが、やはり食とコミュニケーション。

日本でできた友達と話がしたい。

日本で食べたあの味を日本で作りたいので、日本のレシピを読めるようになりたい。そんな人が多いです。そして、みんな本当に、日本料理をよく作っています。こちらにある日本料理の教室に行っていた生徒も居ました。旅先では、日本で意外と？なのでしょうか、我が校の生徒は必ず初回に広島を訪れています。東京・京都大阪・広島、という組み合わせが最多。これは歴史的な関心からくるといえるんでしょうかね。 ・小説

私の生徒で年齢層が高めの生徒は小説好きがとても多いです。日本の小説の世界観が好きだとのこと。こちらでも英語版が手に入るため、よく色んな小説を紹介してくれます。一番人気なのはやはり村上春樹。古い作家だと川端康成。

戦争関連の小説を読み漁っている生徒もいます。英語ですが、本当にたくさんの日本の小説を読んでおり、いつか日本語で読みたい！と思っているようです。

・伝統文化

いけばな、茶道、藍染、ことわざ等、日本の古い文化が好きな生徒が多いです。

私も知らないことをみんなよく知っていて、逆に教えてもらっています。

生徒と関わることで、逆に日本の魅力を教えてもらっている毎日です。私ももっと日本の魅力を教えられるよう、日本について勉強しようと思います。
